  • About the Role

    Strathcona Tree Care is a team of ISA certified arborists experienced in the management of Trees on Municipal, Commercial, and Residential properties. We are seeking a motivated Trainee Arborist to join our team.

    This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to build a career in arboriculture. You will work alongside experienced certified arborists, learning hands-on techniques while contributing to the health and safety of trees in our community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist and support team members with all aspects of tree care under supervision

    • Operate and maintain equipment safely and responsibly

    • Maintain organized and safe work sites

    • Follow all safety protocols and company standards

    • Participate in monthly meeting and training session

    Qualifications

    • Interest in trees, nature, and outdoor work on Vancouver Island

    • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction

    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team

    • Physically fit and capable of working safely in a coastal rainforest environment, in all weather conditions

    • Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors for extended periods

    • Basic knowledge of tree biology is an asset, but not required

    • Valid driver’s license required
