About the Role
Strathcona Tree Care is a team of ISA certified arborists experienced in the management of Trees on Municipal, Commercial, and Residential properties. We are seeking a motivated Trainee Arborist to join our team.
This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to build a career in arboriculture. You will work alongside experienced certified arborists, learning hands-on techniques while contributing to the health and safety of trees in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Assist and support team members with all aspects of tree care under supervision
Operate and maintain equipment safely and responsibly
Maintain organized and safe work sites
Follow all safety protocols and company standards
Participate in monthly meeting and training session
Qualifications
Interest in trees, nature, and outdoor work on Vancouver Island
Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Physically fit and capable of working safely in a coastal rainforest environment, in all weather conditions
Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors for extended periods
Basic knowledge of tree biology is an asset, but not required
Valid driver’s license required
