  • Aaron Kinvig - ISA Certified Arborist - Strathcona Tree Care - Operations Manager

    Aaron Kinvig

    Operations Manager

I have been working in the arboriculture industry since 2005. Originally from the United Kingdom, I pursued a dream of living among the mountains of British Columbia and was drawn to the environment of Vancouver Island. Seeking adventure is how I spend my time outside of Strathcona Tree Care, there is no shortage of that here. As an arborist I get to challenge myself every day physically and mentally, outside among the trees continuing my education in the care of trees.

Born in Thunder Bay and a wanderer by nature it’s no surprise I’ve found myself living on Vancouver Island.

Raising a family in the Comox Valley has been nothing short of a dream. The diversity of land, flora and fauna is fascinating. It keeps me and my family inspired and driven to preserve and explore the island as much as possible.

Strathcona Tree Care allows me to pursue my passion and wonder for nature, adventure and photography all year round. I have 3 years experience in the arboriculture industry.

I’m originally from the New Forest, United Kingdom, where I was fortunate enough to grow up among beautiful natural woodland. I’ve always been captivated with nature and outdoor spaces, and Vancouver Island has become an ideal place to call home.

I have 8 years of experience working in arboriculture in the UK, New Zealand, and Canada, and take enjoyment from the opportunities it provides me to appreciate the outdoors. In my down time I enjoy hiking, climbing, paddling, and relaxing with an ever growing collection of books.

Credentials: ISA Certified Arborist #PN-9782A (International Society of Arboriculture), Tree Risk Assessor Qualified (TRAQ) (International Society of Arboriculture), Emergency/Basic First Aid

  • William Clayton - ISA Certified Arborist - Strathcona Tree Care - Supervisor

    Will Clayton

    Supervisor & Lead Climber

Originally from the UK, I have 15 years arboriculture experience. Like most other arborists here, I seek and enjoy many adventures this province has to offer. Hiking, camping, splitboarding, MTB and climbing untouched giant old growth trees.  I've been lucky to have played a part in many old growth projects with Ancient Forestry Alliance and Expedition Old growth.  There's something incredible about being at the top of a 200’+ tree or 2000m+  peak looking down at the vastness of these lands.  I love the challenge & physicality of tree work alongside working with other incredible arborists as a team, that’s why I’m stoked to be apart of Strathcona Tree Care.

Credentials: ISA Certified Arborist #PN-9927A (International Society of Arboriculture), Arborist Technician (SkilledTradesBC formally ITABC), Emergency/Basic First Aid

We have an expert team and the equipment to tackle any project no matter the size.

Our team of certified arborists are educated in the practice of arboriculture meaning your trees get the right care and will continue to be an important part of the landscape’s future.

  • Some trees may need a little support and this can come in the form of cabling, bracing or staking. Tree support systems are a proactive and preventative technique to support a tree with poor or weak structure. Not all trees need it and supplemental structural support systems should only be installed based on a thorough inspection and evaluation of tree structure by our certified arborists.
